Article : Nonlinear dynamics parameters estimated from the induced seismicity in Polish coal mines

Abstract : The phase space of the process which generates localt mining seismicity was reconstructed. Time series of the epicentre distributions, intertime between the consecutive events and the logarithms of energy were examined using standard seismological data registered in some Polish coal mines. The analysis of the embedded attractor's dimensions and the estimates of the greatest of Lyapunov exponents confirms the chaotic dynamics of Uw process. The generalized dimensions Dq and their time variations were calculated to establish their relations with the specific conditions of the process under study.
