Abstract : The effects of the stationary and the mobile phases on chromato-graphic behaviour in the separation of water-insoluble complexes of diethyldithiocarbamate with Cd2+, Co2+, Cu2+, Fe2+, Hg2+, Mn2+, and Pb2+ have been studied by thin layer chromatography with polar adsorbents (silica gel or alumina) and benzene-chloroform two-component mobile phases. The results obtained show that metal ions in the form of their chelates with DDTC can be separated under the conditions presented.
