Abstrakty : In the paper the investigation of cavitation resistance of Fe-Cr-Mn coating has been shown. This alloy is used in mending of machine elements subjected to cavitation. Chromium nickel stainless steel 0H18N9 was used as the substrate. Clad was tested for three cases: without additional processing, after laser heating of the solid state and after laser melting of the coating. CO2 laser with a beam power 1000 W was used as a source of radiation. The investigated sample was exposed to cavitation loading at the rotating disk facility. The investigations were performed in the initial period of the clad damage. The plastic deformation on the investigated surfaces was defined using an image analysis. The microstructure, chemical composition and phase identification of the modified layer were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), light microscopy (LM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD), respectively. The hardness of processed layers was investigated by a Vicker hardness tester. The results indicate, that there is different susceptible to plastic deformation caused by cavitation loading for different kind of laser processing.

Abstrakty : In the work, the relationships between cavitation resistance of laser produced alloys and their ability to work hardening were searched for. Considerations were carried out for groups of samples with surface layers featured by one common property, such as brittleness, hardness or uniformity of the laser processed zones. It was found, that materials of approximate surface microhardness exhibit monotonical rela-tionship between erosion resistance and the ability to work hardening. .

Abstrakty : In the work, the dependence of cavitation resistance of laser produced of electrode produced superticial iron alloys on the type of the substrate was investigated. Substrates of tested samples were made of steels 45, 2H13, OH 18N9T and Armco iron. Cavitation assays of the materials with thin surface layers alloyed with SiC or AlNi compounds or with 1-2,5 mm thick coatings deposited by means of electrodes IMP6 and IMP9 were carried out. It was found, that substrate play significant role in erosion resistance of superficially processed steels due to surface processing effect petrified in the course of the thermal cycle.

The experiments were carried out at the incubation period of the erosion. Rotating disk facility was used for generation of the cavitation loading. Influence of the parameters and processing condi-tions on the increase of cavitation erosion resistance was assessed. It was established that martensitic structure in 2H13 steel, created due to rapid cooling within the narrow path of the remelting did not lead to durable improvement of the metal resistance to cavitation attack. It was also stated, that strain-hardening of the remelted layer manufactured in 1H18N9T steel as well as the residual stresses relaxation in course of the pulse radiation processing are most profitable for increasing of the caviation resistance of the latter material.

Abstrakty : In the paper the investigations of cavitation erosion of 2H13 and 1H18N9T steels superficially remelted by laser beam arepresented. The experiments were carried out at the incubation period of the erosion. Rotating disk facility was used for generation of the cavitation loading. Influence of the parameters and processing condi-tions on the increase of cavitation erosion resistance was assessed. It was established that martensitic structure in 2H13 steel, created due to rapid cooling within the narrow path of the remelting did not lead to durable improvement of the metal resistance to cavitation attack. It was also stated, that strain-hardening of the remelted layer manufactured in 1H18N9T steel as well as the residual stresses relaxation in course of the pulse radiation processing are most profitable for increasing of the caviation resistance of the latter material.
